Looking over this chart, one can see that "low yield" is an inaccurate label, if you you consider the potential of the well. Thinking not in terms of the peak demand harvested directly from the well, but rather what the well is actually able to produce. The harvest of that production is managed to meet the true demand. Our ground water is probably not going to any get better, so we must do a better job of collecting and conserving this valuable resource. The typical measure of a "good well" is outdated and needs to be revised. If a house has a well with 1 gallon per minute yield, it is thought to be "low yield" and marginal at best. However a Well ManagerŪ can provide a volume of over 1,400 gallons per day....enough water for most households and then some. If we view wells from this new prospective, we will not have to drill wells expecting to need 6-10 gpm for a "Good Well". In many cases a well with 2-3 gallons per minute could easily supply water to 4 or 5 houses. If you look at the effort and cost of, say 4 houses with 4 wells, then compare it to 1 well and a Well ManagerŪ delivering water to those 4 houses. It just makes sense to be efficient and effective in how we access and use mother natures great resource. It's not Magic......It's Management!
